We’re pleased to announce that Michelle Lipinski has joined the University of California Press as our new senior acquisitions editor for economics and technology studies. With just three days in the office under her belt before the Bay Area’s shelter in place orders were issued, Michelle has adjusted like the rest of us and is actively working from home, pursuing future projects for her lists.
Michelle comes to UC Press from Stanford University Press, where she acquired trade and academic titles for their anthropology and law and society lists. Before Stanford, Michelle started her career in publishing at Oxford University Press in New York.
In her words:
“University of California Press gives voice to an impressive array of inspiring authors and is a world-class publisher of progressive, transformative ideas. I’m thrilled to be joining the talented and passionate UC Press team, and I look forward to welcoming cutting-edge authors into our new economics and technology studies programs.
“I’ve joined the Press during a difficult and unprecedented time in our world, and conversations about economic flourishing and technological advancement and connectivity are more vital than ever. I’m eager to acquire books in economics and technology studies that contribute in creative, inclusive, and inspiring ways—advancing scholarly ideas, practical applications, and public awareness.”
