We are saddened to learn of the death of Robert F. Judd (b. 1956), Executive Director of the American Musicological Society since 1996. As proud publishers of the society’s flagship journal, the Journal of the American Musicological Society, as well as a large stable of award-winning books in the field, we will profoundly miss the integrity and wisdom with which he led the organization. He was a man of warmth, kindness, and deep generosity, and the memory and grace of his leadership will leave a lasting mark on the AMS and on all those whose lives he touched.
