Congratulations are in order for Pacific Historical Review and three of its contributors who are being honored this week with awards from the Western History Association. This year’s WHA Awards (for which PHR has won three out of the seven awards for which it was eligible) continue an award-winning tradition at PHR:
- PHR has received the WHA’s prestigious Billington Prize three out of the last four years
- This is the second year in a row that PHR has received both the WHA’s Ruiz & Malone awards
- Overall, PHR‘s articles have won six prizes this year (not counting the two PCB-AHA prizes, which UC Press sponsors)
Congratulations to this year’s PHR winners:
Ray Allen Billington Prize for best journal article in western history
Megan Asaka, “‘40-Acre Smudge’: Race and Erasure in Prewar Seattle“
Vicki L. Ruiz Award for the best journal article on race in the North American West
