Global Perspectives Welcomes New Editors-in-Chief Hagen Schulz-Forberg and J.P. Singh

UC Press is pleased to announce the summer appointment of co-Editors-in-Chief Hagen Schulz-Forberg and J.P. Singh to the editorial helm of Global Perspectives.

Global Perspectives is a transdisciplinary journal publishing social science research and debates in a globalizing world. In 2021, under the leadership of then Editor-in-Chief Helmut Anheier, the journal was named Best New Journal by the Council of Editors of Learned Journals.

“Hagen and JP have been part of the journal from the start,” notes Professor Anheier, “and have contributed significantly to its success. I am confident that under their leadership, Global Perspectives will continue to thrive as the leading outlet for cutting-edge research and major debates for global social science.”

As Section Editors, Professors Schulz-Forberg (Politics, Governance, and the Law) and Singh (Political Economy, Markets, and Institutions) were responsible for publishing some of the journal’s most-read and impactful content, including Hillary Briffa's Small States and COVID-19: Challenges and Opportunities for Multilateralism, Ngaire Woods' Multilateralism in the Twenty-First Century, Thomas Biebricher’s Neoliberalism and Authoritarianism, and Nea Lepinkäinen and Hanna Maria Malik’s Discourses on AI and Regulation of Automated Decision-Making.

As the new co-editors for Global Perspectives, Schulz-Forberg and Singh “are honored to lead the journal into the next phase, and humbled to take the charge forward from Helmut Anheier… Rather than change the course for the journal, we will seek to deepen the impact the journal continues to make in academic publishing.”
